Erding - This year naturalness is the trend for grave decorations.

Nurseries in the district have some design suggestions for All Saints' Day.

On All Saints' Day and All Souls Day, 1./2.

November, the Catholic Christians traditionally commemorate their deceased.

This is a reminder that earthly existence is transitory.

After the services, the graves are blessed in the cemeteries.

They are replanted the days before or decorated with flower arrangements.

There are different trends every year.

This year, naturalness is the key.

"Colorful autumn leaves with different leaf structures in small and large are very popular this year," explains Karin Remm from the Strohmair & Hirsch nursery in Erding.

Green tones with a little white are also trendy.

However, it makes a difference whether the customers opt for a plant or a flower arrangement.

"This year, combined heart-shaped arrangements are particularly popular for flower arrangements," adds Remm.

Christmas roses are also popular.

The nursery has already sold many of them.

Robert Gauster, owner of the nursery of the same name in Dorfen, can confirm the trend towards naturalness.

Compared to last year, it has even increased.

This applies equally to plants and arrangements.

He mentions ornamental foliage plants such as multicolored nettles with their beautiful foliage or purple bells as examples.

“Green and white is also in fashion this year, but mainly for plants,” says Gauster.

The Hagl nursery in Erding also focuses on naturalness, but fresh planting is also popular, explains Andrea Hagl, naming pansies, moss cushions, Heben, Heuchera (purple bells) or Calluna (common heather).

One advantage: “All of these plants should survive the winter.” TOM MERTENS
