Gröbenzell - The community library Gröbenzell received the Bavarian Library Prize for its GoGreen campaign at the official award ceremony in Veitshöchheim, at which State Minister Bernd Sibler, Member of the State Parliament, congratulated the winners by video message.
"It all started with a plug," explains Angelina Hanke, head of the Gröbenzeller library, "more precisely the non-existent sink plug." One had to come here immediately after taking office at the end of 2018 in order to save water. It was also the first step in the library's GoGreen campaign, which has picked up speed in recent years. Now, on behalf of the entire library team, Hanke has received the laurels for her commitment. Martin Schäfer, First Mayor of the community of Gröbenzell, is pleased: "The community library is representative of sustainability in Gröbenzell, a real lighthouse project."
Also present in Veitshöchheim were Ulrike Breitkopf, chairwoman of the library board of trustees, and Petra Gasser, deputy head of the community library.
Of course, the Gröbenzell delegation did not come to Veitshochheim empty-handed.
In the interests of sustainability, however, no flowers were given, but a tree was planted in the garden of the Veitshöchheim library.
