Driven by his love for judo, in which he sees the sport of champions, and which he began practicing since 1992, Omar Houran, a judoka who has a black belt "2 Dan", managed to achieve many advanced positions in the championships of Aleppo and the Republic during his sports career.
Houran, 36, told SANA sports reporter in Aleppo how he was attached to this sport since his childhood years and his level began to gradually develop when he won the first republican championship in which he participated with the Army Club in the junior category, taking first place in 1992, then first in 1993, and then being included in the categories The highest age to reach professionalism as an international player representing Syria in international forums.
Houran pointed out that he participated in the Arab Judo Championship in 2002 in Egypt and won the first place, and in 2003 he won the bronze medal in the Arab Championship in Lebanon, and in 2005 he won second place in the Damascus International Championship, and in 2007 he achieved second place in the International Peace Championship in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. In the same year, he won first place in the West Asian Open Sambo Championship.
Houran pointed out that he suffered a shoulder and knee injury in 2012, which led to his suspension from playing for five years, to return in 2018 as a coach after following several training and arbitration courses, indicating that he became a coach for the Police Club for age groups, and many heroes who had an affair on the local and Arab arena came out.
