2021-10-30T07:02:20.715Z

The moving story of Shahar Greenspan, which we published here last week, touched the hearts of thousands. And very excited, "Shahar told us this week

"Thank you," Shahar Greenspan tells me in her voice.

"I'm excited".

Her effort to speak is great.

Really heroic.

I ask her how many comments she received about the article with her, which we published last week.

"Lots," she says.

"It made me very happy."

Last Friday I received an exciting message from Nehama, Shahar's mother.

"Shahar is more excited about the article, almost more than the book she published," she wrote.

Thousands of readers showered love, warmth and praise on the social networks of "Israel Today" and in private messages.

The article about it won thousands of likes and hundreds of shares.

Everyone was excited to read that the beautiful girl, who was fatally wounded in the head a week before her bat mitzvah, has written a new book of songs that is now being published, called "Big Little Successes" (Poetic Publishing).

Many of the respondents said that they well remember the shocking incident, in which a drunk driver got into a traffic jam and ran over Shahar wildly close to her home in Netanya.

Many expressed admiration at the miraculous rehabilitation she has undergone since.

Today she is a 23-year-old who sits in a wheelchair, understands everything cognitively, is also able to speak in her voice, and occasionally writes her words on a computer, and a structured voice of a narrator reads them.

The story of her rehabilitation is inconceivable.

The doctors initially thought she would not survive, but Shahar kicked all the pessimistic predictions, woke up and fought.

She worked hard on the quality of her life, and with the help of her parents Nehama and Israel, her sisters Neta and Yael, and her angel, Yechiel Hovra, who cares for the injured and believed in her with all his heart and soul, astonished everyone.

When I spoke to her about two weeks ago, Shahar told me: "I'm waiting for comments on the book. I'll get compliments, and that's important to me."

Composer and singer Shlomo Molcho (73) from Netanya says that he read the article and did not stop crying.

"It shocked me so much," he says.

"My wife, Pollet, saw me reading the article and never stopped crying. I explained to her that there was a special story here. Unusual. It was so unfair what happened at dawn. All Saturday I kept thinking about her. She was in my heart, in my soul."

Molcho decided to compose Shahar's song "A Little Love Song".

"Her longing for love touched me, made me shiver all over. To this day, I have composed 200 songs in all sorts of styles - Greek, Mizrahi, children's songs. I called Emanuel Alaluf, director of a recording studio in Netanya, and booked a studio with him to record the song. When I sang it, We both had tears in our eyes. "

Molcho also contacted Nehama.

"I spoke to her after talking to author Zohar Aviv, who has been working with Shahar for the past two years and helped her write the new songbook. I told her I composed one of the songs in the book, and Nehama was very, very excited. In the coming days I will give them the CD ".

"A Little Love Song" / Shahar Greenspan

"This is a song about love,

Simple love,

little love.

This is a love that has never passed,

All the time in thought.

Inside the brain,

In the part of love,

She gives me strength.

Do not stop, she says.

Escape tries, but fails.

Dodge wants,

Constantly thinking,

That I need ...

It does not have to be this way,

It does not fit,

So why are you bothering,

Are you coming into life? "

Tuesday this week, at the family home in Netanya.

A midweek evening, and daughter Neta came to visit her parents and Shahar, along with her toddler son Itai, almost 3. Nehama and Israel rejoice over him.

Beautiful, touching moments.

Moments of life.

Shahar is sitting in the living room in her wheelchair.

Nehama says that she received many phone calls from strangers, who expressed great excitement about Shahar's miraculous restoration and the fact that she wrote a book of songs.

"A couple from Petah Tikva, a husband and wife, who did not know us before, bought two books, and said they were happy she wrote a book of songs. Lots of friends also called that the article moved them. It really warms our hearts and Shahar's heart. Dozens of books have been sold since the weekend That has passed, and there are still further inquiries for the purchase of the book. "

Shahar herself continues with her busy daily routine.

Four days a week, she is at the "Wheelhouse" rehabilitation center in Herzliya, a national organization for young people and adults with physical disabilities, from morning to noon.

When she returns home, she has a variety of treatments: horseback riding, acupuncture, shiatsu, physiotherapy, communication clinician, weekly meeting with the author Zohar Aviv, a psychologist, and also treatment with Yechiel Chovra, which during the corona period takes place in video calls on WhatsApp.

"She did not rest for a moment," says Nehama.

Shahar is sitting in the living room in her wheelchair.

I ask her how she feels, and she answers me, in her voice: "Good!".

Before we break up, I feel like she wants to tell me one last thing.

She struggles to speak.

Stretches and straightens up in her chair, and thinks syllable after syllable.

"Thank you".

"Thank you," I reply.

"Thank you for giving me the great privilege of telling you how exciting you are."
