The discussion about possible wind turbine locations - keyword Höhenkirchner Forst, Hofoldinger Forst and Forstenrieder Park - in the district of Munich is in full swing, as the energy agency Munich-Ebersberg is already opening the next (location) barrel.
In order to siphon off new energy sources in the area, the alternative energy consultants propose a wind turbine between Aschheim and Dornach.
Aschheim- The municipality of Aschheim is getting ready to tap into the potential for renewable energies, and there is talk of a wind turbine right from the first discussions.
The presentation by the Munich-Ebersberg Energy Agency placed a wind power plant between the districts of Aschheim and Dornach in the room.
The 2018 figures document an electricity consumption of 76,380 megawatt hours for the municipality.
This contrasts with a share of renewable electricity generation of 11,451 megawatt hours, which corresponds to around 15 percent.
This generated electricity was divided into hydropower (5704 MWh, 7.5%), photovoltaics (3580 MWh, 4.7%) and geothermal energy (2167 MWh, 2.8%).
The balance shows that there is a need for new power sources in Aschheim.
Photovoltaic system on the highway
The two central proposals are open space photovoltaic systems on the motorway and a wind turbine between Aschheim and Dornach.
The energy agency makes it clear that a modern wind turbine with around 10,000 megawatt hours per year would mean a quantum leap.
Even an open-space photovoltaic system is estimated at 1000 megawatt hours more than the yield of roof systems (around ten megawatt hours).
Contrary opinion on wind turbine
"Of course the local council has to decide, but I can't imagine a wind turbine between Aschheim and Dornach," said Mayor Thomas Glashauser (CSU).
Walter Wiedenhofer (Greens) contradicted this expression of opinion and emphasized "that times have changed".
In order to be able to do justice to the energy transition, more commitment is needed.
Such a wind turbine should be tested, even if the first thoughts far away from the decision-making process showed widely divergent opinions.
The situation is different with the photovoltaic systems in the vicinity of the motorway.
Glashauser and some local councilors can well imagine this generation of electricity.
The energy agency's presentation was initially taken note of neutrally.
