Mammendorf - After the municipal council decided against mobile filters in the fight against the corona pandemic, an engineering office for energy and building technology was asked to carry out investigations for the installation of a ventilation system.
The school management, caretaker and parents' council were involved in the planning.
The concept for the system was presented at the most recent meeting.
The local council unanimously agreed.
Before the call for tenders, however, the detailed planning and cost calculation must be submitted to the committee.
The main part of the construction work is to be carried out during the holiday periods.
The entire renovation will cost 1.2 million euros. Approximately 500,000 euros are expected in grants. Operating costs and maintenance of the ventilation system add up to around 7500 euros annually. On the part of the building administration, the installation of air conditioning systems is inevitable. It was said that air conditioning systems are standard in new school buildings.
The central ventilation device will be installed in the bicycle parking garage.
From there, pipes lead through the attic along the corridor on the second floor and then two pipes each (supply and exhaust air) vertically into the individual classrooms.
In this way, the rooms are supplied with fresh air.
The floors are connected by a shaft through which the pipes run.
The aim is to have to remodel the classrooms as little as possible.
CO2 sensors are installed in the rooms to monitor the indoor air quality.
