One day after the possible purchase of land for a new clinic in Herrsching became known, the Friends and Friends of the Seefeld Hospital met for the general meeting on Thursday evening.
The clinic's departure, which has now become more probable, was not mourned - on the contrary.

- "Maximum speed": This is the pace that clinic director Dr. Thomas Weiler for the planning for a new clinic in the western district. He wanted to "have a result sometime in the course of 2022 and then hopefully only drive a single track," said Weiler on Thursday evening at the general meeting of the Friends of the Seefeld Hospital Association. There were only about 36 hours between the announcement of the plot of land in the district on Seefelder Strasse in Herrsching and the meeting in the Peter and Paul Hall in Oberalting - a director could hardly have planned this dynamic better.
It became clear: So far, there seems to be no jealousy between the communities regarding the location issue.
"We have no competition internally, the future clinic should be the best location," emphasized Herrsching's mayor Christian Schiller, who handed over the chairmanship of the association to his Seefeld official, Klaus Kögel, in the course of the evening.
“We need solidarity and solidarity,” said Kögel again.
The municipal councils of both places bear great responsibility.
Medical Director: The employees are happy
Perhaps the clearest statement in this context came from the Medical Director of the Seefeld Clinic, Dr.
Markus Wagner.
"We employees of both clinics are looking forward to the future," he said with a view to a new 190-bed building.
The hospital in Seefeld and the Schindlbeck Clinic in Herrsching are "two pearls" with specialists, some at university level, with "world-class care" and with high patient satisfaction, enthused Wagner.
However, there can only be a meaningful future at a common location - for economic considerations, but also for medical necessities, which the chief surgeon illustrated with this example: "What do you do when a hip patient suffers a heart attack?"
Order to architect, appraiser begin
He gave critics, especially those at the Hechendorf site, to consider: “A clinic is not an airport. You have to make that clear to the critics. ”Clinic director Weiler explained that the location on Lindenallee is one of the three possible alternatives for a new clinic in the western district for the time being. All measures for the necessary development plan have been initiated, said Weiler and cited a soil survey and flora and fauna mapping as an example. These would start in February.
At the existing location of the Schindlbeck Clinic on Seestrasse in Herrsching, it is being checked whether the space and function program agreed with the Ministry of Health can be implemented there. Next week, the clinic holding will commission an architecture office, the services for project management will be put out to tender. "Then it's in the hands of the specialist planners."
If the 190-bed house on Seestrasse can be realized (which Weiler sees rather skeptically), "we will talk to the community to hear about the building permit".
Should it not be possible, “we will confront the ministry with this result”.
Then it's about the new location: Hechendorf or - after a successful plot of land - Seefelder Straße in Herrsching.
Development and connection to Seefelder Straße are “very good”, the area is “sufficiently large”, explained Weiler.
“I am very happy that we have two alternatives.
I've been sleeping a little more peacefully for two weeks now. "
Seefeld will take over clinic operations in 2022
The fact that both clinics officially started at the turn of the year under the working title of Dr. Schindlbeck-Klinik Seefeld Herrsching GmbH merge is well known. Weiler spoke on Thursday of a "business split". The Seefeld Clinic will then be responsible for the entire operation of the clinic, including employees - "in future it will be a hospital with two locations until it is merged at one location".
What this clinic will be called one day is still open.
"We are still discussing the name," said Weiler.
It is a discussion with emotions that is also being held among the employees of both houses.
Weiler also expressed his great thanks to them on Thursday, as well as the citizens "who go to their clinics" and the state government.
Only the services provided by the staff would have led the ministry to issue the funding notification for a new clinic, said the clinic director.
