Kassel - The infection rate in Germany is dynamic and the increase in the nationwide incidence, which has been ongoing for about two weeks, continues on Sunday (October 31, 2021).
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the number of new Corona * infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week at 149.4.
For comparison: On Saturday (October 30th, 2021) the corona value was 145.1, a week ago it was 106.3.
The health authorities in Germany reported 16,887 new infections to the RKI within one day.
This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 04:24.
A week ago, the value was 13,732 infections.
This means that the number of detected infections has increased to 4,597,550 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI's Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.
Nationwide, according to the RKI, 33 deaths were recorded within 24 hours.
A week ago there were 23 deaths.
The number of people who died in connection with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 95,729.

Corona case numbers in Germany: Hospitalization incidence from Friday (29.10.2021)
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the restrictions - was given by the RKI on Friday (October 29, 2021) as 3.50 (Thursday: 3.31, Wednesday : 3.07).
The value is not published on Saturday and Sunday.
With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay.
A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.
The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
The increasing number of corona cases could also affect the rules in the supermarket * in November.
