Toyota unveils new and first electric recreational vehicle for it.

Toyota was in no hurry to get into the electric game, as its fleet of electric vehicles, does not really oblige it to do here.

It may be time to point out that Toyota is one of the only manufacturers in the world to manufacture and market fuel cell-driven cars.

Toyota bZ4X is based on a completely new electric platform, developed with Subaru and will also be used in the future.

The dimensions of the new vehicle are similar to those of the manufacturer's RAV4 with the electric one slightly lower and offering a slightly longer wheelbase.

According to Toyota, the bZ4X is powered by an electric motor that produces 204 hp when the maximum speed is limited by a computer (160 km / h) and the acceleration figure is 8.4 seconds on the way to 100 km / h.

The range is 450 km / h when there is a fast charging capability (up to 80 percent within 30 minutes) and also the possibility of a solar roof.

That said roof could increase the driving range of the Toyota bZ4X.

It is supposed to capture sunlight, without pollution and at no cost of course, and harness them to charge the battery.

The roof will be active whether the vehicle is running or standing and according to Toyota the said roof can add about 1,800 km of clean range every year.

The recreational vehicle will also have a dual propulsion version with 217 hp.

The full details are few at the moment.

In the official press release, Toyota states that the dual-propulsion version will be equipped with two electric motors for each axle and will even include dedicated modes for technical areas.

From the photos it can be deduced that the base version places the electric motor in the front of the vehicle and drives the front wheels.

The new tram will also be the first Toyota to use steering-wheel-steering that completely eliminates the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels.

The technology that will be introduced to the European market at a later stage, allows freedom in the position of the steering wheel, more legroom and easier entry and exit of the vehicle.

It will also allow the use of a truncated steering wheel, as it will not be necessary to remove hands from the steering wheel when a full lock is achieved at a rotation of 150 degrees.

The full launch of the Toyota tram will take place at the end of the year for the European market.

In a short time, the actual marketing will begin, using the online ordering option.

To Israel, the first electric Toyota is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022. From acquaintance with the local market and its fondness for the Japanese manufacturer, it can be said that here too, there are already those who will want to make a down payment.
