For the second day in a row, Russia witnessed a record and unprecedented jump with more than 40,000 new infections in the number of daily infections with the Corona virus.
And the Operations Room to combat the coronavirus outbreak in Russia announced in its report today that it had detected 40,993 new cases of the virus during the past 24 hours, compared to 40,251 cases the day before.
The largest number of new infections was distributed between the capital, Moscow, 7,603 cases, the second largest city in the country, Saint Petersburg, 3,597 cases, and the Moscow region, 2,737 cases.
The death toll from Corona increased during the last day in Russia by 1158 deaths, compared to 1160 deaths yesterday, while 27,115 patients recovered from the epidemic yesterday.
In Russia, since the beginning of the pandemic, it has recorded a total of eight million and 513,790 confirmed cases of corona, including 238,538 deaths and seven million and 358,539 cases of recovery.
Yesterday, a paid public holiday, imposed until the seventh of next month, took effect across Russia, in an effort to limit the spread of the epidemic.
