New King's Clothes: Top NBA Player Rankings Today | Israel today

2021-10-31T21:44:45.694Z

The lift from Memphis that is going to climb in the rankings in the coming years • First five without LeBron James • and the most influential Europeans in the best league in the world • So who leads the top by a gap? The full rating inside

After ranking the best NBA players of all time, move on to focus on the here and now.

Three weeks into the 21/22 season and already now there is a feeling that this is going to be a special season, maybe even memorable.

That's exactly why we chose to rank the top ten players today in the best league of them all.

taking off.

10. Ja Morant

True, there may be a slight drift here due to a crushing season opener, but the Memphis lift is here to stay.

The second pick in the 2019 draft is perhaps the most exciting thing this league has to offer right now.

Unstoppable penetration, improved shooting and an instinct killer reminiscent of the greatest legends.

All of these guarantee that Morant will probably lead this list in a few years.

9. Damian Lillard

Although his season opener is somewhat faltering and could have sent him to the spam list of the rankings, we are convinced that "enough" will reset the target and very soon.

The situation in Portland may not be ideal for a superstar at his level, but let's not forget that this is a spectacular attacking machine, one of the largest clutches and on a given day equivalent to almost everyone who climbed above him on the list.

8. LeBron James

Just before the King's fans take to the streets to burn tires, retreat and apologize that for a single game or an entire series, LeBron is still the winning ace in every pack, but when it comes to an entire season then the drop in rankings is inevitable.

Even at 36, James is still a physical basketball marvel that I have never interviewed, but tens of thousands of minutes of time from 19 seasons of greatness along with the slight athletic erosion no longer allow him to be the sole master on both sides of the court as in the past.

7. Anthony Davis

Here too the big story is what happens to the orthopedist and not on the field, because in terms of skills then it could be that "AD" has it most of all.

Precisely after controlling the bubble that led to the premiere ring, came last season and provided a demonstration of mediocrity and instability that caused quite a few people to raise an attached eyebrow in bewilderment.

Davis seems to have learned a lesson and this season he has already come stronger and more determined in hopes of turning the Lakers' apparent entanglement into another championship.

6. Joel Ambide

The frequent injuries and the sucking exit from the passing playoffs almost made us forget that the Cameroonian freak provided last season with a record basketball and sometimes looks like the best player in the league.

This season, and in the shadow of any Ben Simmons saga that is not expected to end soon, it is not inconceivable that we will see him take another leap.

Just to stay healthy.

5. Luca Doncic

In our amiable European community they have long given the Slovenian lift the go-ahead, but we are here to lightly curb the celebration.

It's true that Doncic is exactly what we pinned on and more somewhere when juggling here in the Tel Aviv arena as a teenager, but the road to the top still has to go through with a win in the playoffs.

4. Nikola Jukic

The Joker is the outstanding player in office, but as long as we do not see him at least qualifying for the Western Finals, we are not ready to give him the secret code to enter the top of the list.

In the meantime we will settle for whatever Yukic is, and it's the best chin in the game and perhaps with the best game vision ever in the "Big Men" segment on the surest way to becoming the greatest European of all time along with the name below it.

3. Steph Kerry

We thought his frame got somewhere in the amazing Golden State Championship run, so we thought.

A second season that he juggles without any worthy star by his side and the best slinger of all time continues to amaze and rewrite his history at any given moment.

This season he came up with a new muscle mass and even, believe it or not, with a further improvement in shooting.

It all smells like another MVP degree in preparation.

2. Yannis Antocompo

It could very well have been that he should have been placed on the throne, but in the meantime the freak is still on the doorstep, close to complete control of the league for many years to come.

For years his superhuman physicality and athleticism have been uncontrollable, but quite a few doubts have been thrown at his game over the years - until the previous playoffs and one memorable final series arrived that finally demonstrated a historic phenomenon in the safest permanent place in the biggest boutique hotel ever.

Also this season the dominance of Yannis is not expected to stop for a moment and no one will be surprised if we see him spraying champagne again at the end.

1. Kevin Durant

Don’t let the lukewarm semi-season opener of him and the Nets fool you for a moment, because KD is currently the undisputed ruler of the league and the one who needs to cement it again in the mind that will only peek into the passing playoffs of the splash.

We'll tell all the lazy ones and tell how Durant would rewrite the term dominance and was a quarter-sole distance less than beating Yannis in Game 7 and likely to win another championship.

After that came the Olympics and the rest of the world also got the shout out why he is the best player in the world.

Durant is the most efficient and diverse scorer in the history of the game and the player you would want him to take the shot at, if your life were in danger and only a basket was a lifesaver.

Despite the cruel Achilles injury two and a half years ago, he is still at his peak and that in itself is enough to make him the best player in the world.
