Augsburg - The header specialists at FC Augsburg have finally found a way out of their crisis against VfB Stuttgart. Joker Florian Niederlechner (72nd) and Alfred Finnbogason (81st) even increased - each with their feet.
It is the highest win of the season for Augsburg.
The injury bad luck remained true to the Stuttgarters.
They had to do without defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and were forced to make two substitutions for goal scorer Führich and Marc Oliver Kempf in the first half.
Augsburg club boss Klaus Hofmann had ruled out a personal discussion about Weinzierl and manager Stefan Reuter during the week.
Reuter once again left Weinzierl in no doubt.
"We are convinced of the quality of the squad and also very convinced of Markus Weinzierl, with whom we have experienced the most successful time at FC Augsburg over four years," said Reuter at DAZN.
At the same time, he admitted his own mistakes.
“If you have to change coaches every year, then everything cannot have gone optimally,” said the former international.
