Potsdam - Four people were killed in two serious accidents in Brandenburg this weekend.

North of Pritzwalk (Prignitz district) a car came off the road on Saturday evening and hit a tree.

Any help came too late for the 17-year-old driver and a 15-year-old.

Four other inmates - three girls aged 14, 16 and 17 and one 18-year-old - were seriously injured.

After the car crashed into the tree, it sped on across the street to the green strip opposite. The four seriously injured were brought to nearby hospitals by ambulance and helicopter. An emergency chaplain looked after her relatives there. The car was secured. The public prosecutor's office ordered the use of an accident expert.

After the train accident in Löwenberger Land, the criminal police are investigating.

The dead are to be autopsied on Monday.
