Since the start of marketing operations at the beginning of last month, until now, the Al-Fida gin in Hama has received 816 tons of cotton from the Eastern Province.
The director of the gin, Osama Kayal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that 696 tons of cotton were received from farmers in Deir ez-Zor and 120 tons from farmers in Raqqa, pointing out that the received cotton is collected from farmers and in coordination with the Foundation for Seed Multiplication to carry out cotton ginning operations.
The director of the mill indicated that the cotton is of the agricultural variety, from which the resulting seeds are processed, especially the agricultural seeds received from the governorates of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor and handed over to the Foundation for Seed Multiplication, especially from the Raqqa 5 and Deir ez-Zor 22 varieties to be distributed through the Foundation for Seed Propagation to farmers to be re-cultivated as they are being Heat sterilization of seeds.
Kayyal indicated that the ginning facility continues to receive cotton and provide all facilities from the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing to supply the largest possible amount of cotton to the governorate's gins.
