The Economic Policies and Programs Committee discussed during its meeting today, headed by Engineer Hussein Arnous, Prime Minister, the appropriate mechanisms and procedures to correct the mechanism for distributing support and delivering it to its real beneficiaries from limited or no-income societal segments, in a way that contributes to improving the living situation and easing the burdens on the targeted segments under the current circumstances.
Engineer Arnous stressed the importance of taking everything necessary to correct social support in accordance with standards that take into account social justice and the efficiency of public spending, and building a specific database that is accomplished in cooperation and coordination between all concerned parties, and ensuring the delivery of basic materials supported by the state to the most needy, according to new methods that depend on transparency and stop Wasting in this area, stressing that the subsidy is one of the titles of the government's work, and it is continuing in it, and it will not be lifted from any citizen who deserves it.
It was emphasized that the redistribution of support and its delivery to its beneficiaries will contribute to improving wages and salaries, reducing the deficit and improving the educational, health and living situation. The importance of developing the work programs of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to employ the unemployed and continuing to support income-generating micro-enterprises, especially in the countryside, was emphasized.
The committee also discussed the current situation of the small and medium enterprises sector, and the programs and procedures that must be taken to develop these projects, as this sector is the main engine for the growth and recovery of the Syrian economy, both sectorally and at the national level. Innovative, creating specialized business incubators and enhancing the role of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in being a facilitator between project owners and appropriate sources of funding and playing a mediating and guarantor role between project owners and the Loan Risk Guarantee Corporation.
The attendees explained the importance of the authority providing information to novice business owners on how to start their projects, providing assistance services in registration and licensing procedures, accessing appropriate financing services, assisting small and medium enterprises in obtaining technical, financial and marketing support services, identifying obstacles to these projects and proposing solutions to them.
