Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Coordinator of Government Operations in the Occupied Territories, Major General Rassan Aliyan, recommended the entry of 3,000 Palestinians from Judea and Samaria, high-tech workers into the industry in Israel.

The proposal will be submitted today (Monday) for approval by the Ministry of Economy.

The aim of the move is to create jobs for Palestinians in the West Bank, while the Palestinian Authority suffers from acute economic problems, and on the other hand to meet the demand for manpower from Israeli high-tech companies.

Defense officials have made it clear that this is a quick and efficient alternative for foreign workers from different countries.

Meanwhile, about ten days ago, General Alian announced that another 3,000 traders from the Gaza Strip would receive a permit to enter Israel.

So far, the entry has been approved for a total of ten thousand Palestinians, with the permits to be issued to the vaccinated and recovering only.

Due to this, the security system is considering the expansion of the Erez crossing, the border crossing intended for pedestrians, in order to upgrade the level of inspection and the number of entrants per hour.
