Very depressed since his imprisonment, this 45-year-old man went on hunger strike in early October to demand that his four children, aged 4 to 15, be reunited by social services.
An incredible scenario
The disappearance of Magali Blandin (42 years old), who had left Jérôme Gaillard in September 2020, was reported on February 12, 2021. After several days of unsuccessful searches, the man was finally arrested in March and declared in the presence of his lawyer
"to be the author of the premeditated murder of his wife"
.
Jérôme Gaillard had confessed to having waited for his wife on the stairs of his building in Montfort-sur-Meu, on the morning of February 11, then to have hit him with a baseball bat before hiding his body in his apartment.
He had returned the following night to erase the traces of his crime before burying the body, covered with quicklime, in a hole previously dug in a wood.
He himself had led the gendarmes into this wood.
His parents, aged 72 and 75, who admitted to helping their son, are also indicted and jailed in this case.
The investigation had revealed an incredible scenario during which Jérôme Gaillard had confessed to his parents to have mandated Georgian hired killers to execute his wife for a sum of 20,000 euros, before finally taking care of it himself.
