The disqualification of the former director general of the Ministry of Justice was accepted by the committee for examining senior appointments in the public service. • The reason: she does not have sufficient business experience for the position.

Despite the promotion and support from the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Energy:

The committee for examining senior appointments in the public service, headed by Judge Gilor, today (Tuesday) rejected Adv. Amy Palmor's candidacy for chairman of the IEC board.

The decision was made after Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Energy Minister Karin Elharar decided to advance Palmor's candidacy about two months ago.

It should be noted that Minister Elharar and Minister Lieberman brought Adv. Palmor's appointment to the committee's approval even though she is not a member of the board of directors.

In 2019, and after five and a half years as Director General of the Ministry of Justice, the then Minister of Justice, Amir Ohana, fired Palmor and announced that she was resigning. .

Previously, she served as an attorney in the criminal department of the State Attorney's Office and the director of the pardons department in the Ministry of Justice.
