The court guard, assisted by police forces, was deployed today (Tuesday) around the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court compound ahead of a hearing to extend the detention of the leader of the Shuvu Banim community, Eliezer Berland, in the murder and disappearance case in Jerusalem.
His detention was extended by nine days.

Berland returned to prison last week to serve his sentence after being placed under house arrest due to his medical condition.

Regarding the conduct of Berland's investigation into his health condition, the police spokesman clarified that "he was asked dozens of times if he was feeling well. There were dozens of breaks during the investigation. So his health condition did not harm the investigation and we did nothing to harm his health."
Two days ago, police arrested two more suspects, on suspicion of their involvement in murders and absences.
The suspects, residents of Jerusalem in their sixties and seventies, were transferred for questioning to the Central Unit in the Jerusalem District.
The two have previously been close to Berland and senior community officials.
These arrests join six more arrests made in the past two weeks as part of the investigation of those cases.
The detention of one of the suspects was extended until Thursday.
