“We far outperformed, but this is clearly due to the partial closure of the retail trade.

People were happy that they were able to shop online - we felt this very much.

On the first day of the first lockdown, our online sales doubled. This trend didn't last forever, but it remained at a very high level all year round. "

Death drama at the lion's den: "Ankerkraut" founders emigrate despite sales in the millions

Despite the millions in income, Anne and Stefan Lemcke do not have any reason to be happy, because: A terrible death drama in the family overturned the family of the "Den of the Lions" founders.

The Lemckes even decided to marvel at the sunny island of Mallorca.

A VOX team visited the family in their new home.

The multimillionaires now live in a villa on 110 square meters in Santa Ponsa.

Sun, palm trees and the sea on your doorstep.

But all the luxury doesn't make business people happy.

"I would exchange all my money if I could bring the people I love back", says Stefan Lemcke in an interview.

"They are gone, they will never come back".

Stefan Lemcke's father and mother quickly and suddenly fell ill

What happened?

“Ankerkraut” boss Stefan Lemcke first lost his father, and shortly afterwards his mother.

A severe blow of fate for the whole family.

“We didn't want to put him in the hospice.

We said we'd do it, ”says Stefan.

Together with his wife Anne and his sisters, he sat by his father's bed for weeks and waited for him to go.

"Shortly before the success came, the two died."

His parents' serious illness came quickly and unexpectedly, says Stefan Lemcke.

“Suddenly they were terminally ill.” After the death of his parents, Stefan Lemcke emigrated to Mallorca with his wife and two children to let the past rest.

“My parents would be very happy that we are here now.

They were so in love with this island. "

The island helps Ankerkraut's "den of the lions" millionaires to come to terms with the painful loss.

"We're doing this because we suffered such a stroke of fate."
