After Alec Baldwin's fatal shot at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the western film "Rust", the assistant director made his first statement.
Santa Fe - It's been around two weeks since Hollywood star Alec Baldwin apparently accidentally shot 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
While filming the western film "Rust" in the US state of New Mexico, he fired a prop weapon, believing that no live ammunition was loaded.
Hutchins died in hospital shortly after the incident.
Director Joel Souza was hit in the shoulder and injured.

The assistant director Dave Halls had come more and more into the focus of the investigation in the days after the fatal set accident. Now Halls made his first public statement about the fatal incident. However, he was silent about his own role in the accident.

, Halls wrote that he was “shocked and saddened” by the camerawoman's death in the accident.
"Halyna Hutchins was not only one of the most talented people I worked with, but also a friend," said the assistant director.
He hopes that the "tragedy" will move the film industry to "revise their values and practices to ensure that no one is harmed again in the creative process".

Halls is said to have flown out of production for the film "Freedom's Path" in 2019 due to a gun accident.
A producer of the film told the AFP news agency.
After the fatal Baldwin shot, the assistant director had admitted to the police that he had not checked all the bullets in the Colt's drum before handing it over to the actor with the assurance that the gun was safe.
Hollywood star Baldwin spoke to journalists for the first time on Saturday (October 30) about the fatal incident.
"She was my family," he said, looking at the late camerawoman.
The likelihood of such an accident is "one in a trillion," said the actor.
