A community in the Ebersberg district has a corona incidence of over 2000. These numbers are an alarm signal for the district clinic.
The intensive care beds in the Munich area are scarce.

- With 32 new corona infections in the past seven days (source: District Office, updated data from Tuesday lunchtime), the 1,579-inhabitant southern municipality of Frauenneuharting has a dizzying incidence value of around 2030. According to the office, the infection process occurs in only seven families from - five of those affected had a breakthrough in vaccination, the 27 other infected were unvaccinated.

The steep rise in the corona numbers continues unchecked throughout the Ebersberg district: the district office's corona dashboard showed 720 acutely infected people on Tuesday morning and an incidence of 322.
At the same time, the district clinic sends out the first warning signals.
"The winter is going to be uncomfortable," says Peter Kreissl, Medical Director - and sounds noticeably more worried than a few weeks ago.
The high incidences are no longer as worrying as they were before the vaccination was available.
"But the numbers show that something can happen to us."

There are currently nine Covid 19 patients in his house, four of whom are ventilated in the intensive care unit - and none of them come from the Ebersberg district.
Kreissl has an optimistic and a pessimistic reading: "It shows that patient transfer is working in Bavaria," he says.
But the relocation is done by referral because of a lack of intensive care capacities, for example in Geretsried, Altötting or the state capital itself: "There is little space in the whole of Munich," says the chief physician.

What happens if a patient from the Ebersberg district needs a bed quickly, but as the 18 intensive care beds are currently full?
The doctors solve the problem when it occurs - if necessary, as in the past, by relocating to another place.
“We all work on edge,” says Kreissl.
The problem is that Covid-19 patients are dependent on an intensive care bed and ventilation bed for up to seven weeks, in contrast to the usual fluctuation in emergency and surgical follow-up patients, so the hospital is permanently stressed.
Three of the four ventilator patients are unvaccinated, the fourth a man over 80 - one of the isolated breakthroughs in vaccination that require clinical treatment.

They all compete for the rare places with those who want to undergo planned operations or come to the district clinic with other emergencies such as accidental injuries or heart attacks.
Now the Ebersberg hospital has to prepare the emergency plans again, in which planned interventions are canceled.
"We come to an area where we have to drive back," says Kreissl.
Then he says goodbye on the phone, he'll have to operate again soon.
As long as they still let me, ”he says.
