After a lengthy discussion around Pfizer's application to approve a vaccine for children ages 5-11, members of the Advisory Committee on Disease Control and Prevention in the U.S. voted four days after FDA approval.

At the end of a long day of deliberations, the Advisory Committee of Experts of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States (CDC) concluded the discussion on Pfizer's request to approve the vaccine for children aged 5-11 against Corona. The experts recommended approving the vaccine with a majority of 14 The hearing took place a few days after the FDA adopted the recommendation of its own committee of experts to approve the vaccines.

It is likely that the head of the center, Dr. Rachel Wolanski, will soon sign the adoption of the recommendation officially (and may even have done so during the night). This will pave the way for the administration to expand the vaccination campaign immediately.

The FDA vaccine is given on an emergency basis only, but on a practical level, it can be used once it is finally approved on Wolenski's desk.

The administration has been preparing ahead of time and has begun sending about 15 million doses of pediatric vaccine across the U.S. and this could be done once Wolenski signs the decision, but the vast majority of the doses will be available at the vaccination centers starting November 8.

The special Pfizer vaccine for children is actually a third-dose version of the one intended for adults.

Approval of the vaccine will allow it to be injected for the first time into all age groups in US schools. Although the virus has almost no effect on children, they can be carriers and infect others, so the vaccine may be an important blow in the Delta War New variants.
