Emmanuel Cueff arrived very young from Mulhouse to get involved for his country.
He had the perfect qualities to become a parachutist: altruism but also unfailing courage.
He is also a discreet and conscientious man, who fulfills his missions wherever he is sent: the Balkans, Africa.
Entered as a non-commissioned member, his rank of master corporal testifies to the quality of his services.
The 17th parachute regiment is based in Montauban, a town that it will discover for the occasion.
It is a pretty typical French town and all his family enjoys it.
It was only natural that he stayed there after 17 years of service, to begin his life after the army.

This Friday was a small release. After a busy week of work, you had to unwind, spend some time with your wife, quietly. Talk about work, the latest news from friends and children's school grades. Also have a little fun: have a drink, listen to some music and then come home. The weekend promised to be restful. Sure, there was a bit of work to be done in the garden, but it would be a free and rested spirit.
But this Friday night will turn into horror. At the Nautic, a trendy restaurant in avenue de Toulouse, Séverine, Emmanuel's wife is bothered by a man. After a few minutes, she sets things straight: she is with her husband and does not want any confusion. Anyway, she's not afraid of anything, she knows she can count on Emmanuel to defend her as he always has.
But the man insists, despite Emmanuel's presence.
The latter gets up and stands in front of his wife as a protector.
The confusion begins very quickly, without Emmanuel having done nothing to make matters worse.
The man in question is not alone, three friends accompany him and they approach very close to Emmanuel, put their hand on his shoulder.
Things are going pretty fast.
Emmanuel frees himself and takes his wife outside, we have to go home.
As they exit, the four men don't let go.
The confusion continues and they get more and more excited in the hallway, insulting Emmanuel and Séverine.

Arrived outside, it is the rupture: the violence is unleashed.

According to the police report, he was "punched and kicked".
Séverine would like to help him, but she too is violently beaten.
Faced with four unleashed men, Emmanuel has no chance.
His sight blurs and he falls.
His head hits the sidewalk violently.
The violence does not come down until the fear of the police appears in the minds of the murderers.

None of this touches them.
According to the police report, Emmanuel is brain dead on the sidewalk of the “Nautic”, killed by four men from the Traveler community.
His wife Séverine is completely in shock.
It was a post on Twitter that revealed the drama.
In a message published Monday, the friendly of the former parachute regiment of Montauban, announces the death of Emmanuel Cueff, former brother in arms.
The message is also accompanied by a few words of comfort to his family, “

For this drama, the four attackers will likely be judged.
Will the penalty be up to it?
No one knows it yet and as often, many doubt it.
But are these four Travelers the only ones responsible for this murder?
Or are some missing at the helm?
Because Emmanuel's death is the fatal consequence of a long chain of decisions. Emmanuel is not the only victim of the savage: the press is swarming with examples of French people being attacked, robbed, raped, killed. With an almost equivalent population, Italy recorded 250 homicides in 2020 against almost a thousand in France. Let us quote Victorine Dartois killed for a confusion in the forest, Axelle Dorier, dragged under a car for tens of meters in Lyon, and so many others.
Who are the culprits?
The cowards who allow themselves to be overcome by impulses to murder?
Certainly, but perhaps we should also judge those who have been irresponsible enough to let this violence take hold in French society?
Perhaps we should judge those of these magistrates who instilled a feeling of impunity throughout society?
Perhaps we should judge those who despise the low pain of the victims, those who believe, sincerely or not, that Justice is too complicated, too sacred, too high to be lowered to understand the anger of families?

Perhaps we should judge those ideologues who insult the father of a Bataclan victim, those who write columns to excuse the bad and overwhelm the good? Those who only have compassion for victims who do not look like them, who live far away, while they only have disdain for their neighbor?
Perhaps above all we should judge those who let the French stand side by side and then face to face? Those of these ministers, these Presidents of the Republic, current or past who have been irresponsible enough to encourage the release of tens of thousands of delinquents and criminals for 20 years? Those irresponsible enough to refuse to build the jail places we desperately need? What about those who still have the nerve to run for office without shame, after letting so much tragedy unfold?
There are also those who opened the borders, claiming that thousands of dynamic cadres would enter when thousands of delinquents and criminals entered.
And those who still dare to cast shame on anyone who says what he sees: the obvious link between immigration, delinquency and terrorism.
All of these helped make our country a country in which a former parachutist was killed by Travelers for wanting to protect his wife.
May Saint-Michel, patron saint of paratroopers, welcome Emmanuel, protect his family and forgive all those who directly or indirectly participated in his death.
They are numerous.
