This may not sound as dramatic as a campaign in Lebanon, but Israel is currently in the midst of a comprehensive cyber system that includes on the one hand a number of hackers working separately and on the other hand Israeli institutions that hold databases of millions of people.

The leaked details include confidential medical information, personally identifiable information including full names, residence certificates, exact addresses and more.
The information does not currently include people's credit cards, as one might think due to the large activity of counterfeit groups trying to exploit the chaos and opening groups with the same names as the real hacker groups and trying to charge money from users who want to purchase the database.

The citizens of the State of Israel are under attack at the moment and the recommendation of all the various security agencies at the moment is to be vigilant and careful in everything related to our conduct with computers and smartphones.

On Monday, there will be a special discussion on the protection of privacy on social networks in the Constitution Committee, but it is not impossible that this discussion will develop in slightly broader directions following the overall attack that is taking place during these hours.
MK Gilad Karib, chairman of the committee, will enter the discussion that will focus on the question of whether Israel has the legal tools to protect the privacy of its citizens.
"Increasing cyber attacks, the information revealed about the technology giants and the corona crisis - require the Knesset to give priority to the issue of privacy protection, which concerns each and every one of us.

The privacy protection laws in Israel are outdated and do not have the power to deal with the challenges of the period.
"As the chairman of the Constitution Committee, I intend to place the issue as a central issue and work together with the relevant government bodies to strengthen the protection of the privacy of Israeli citizens and the security of their personal information."
