An attempted burglary occurred on Repulse Bay Road.
At about 1 am, at Poetry Garden, No. 5 Repulse Bay Road, a security guard reported that two suspicious persons were found sneaking into the mansion estate.
After receiving the report, officers of the Hong Kong Island Stormtrooper of the police rushed to the scene and checked the CCTV footage. They believed that the two suspects were still in the estate, so they surrounded the building to "encircle and suppress."
According to reports, at about 3 am, police officers found two suspicious persons climbing a canal on the outer wall of the building in an attempt to escape. The danger was surrounding them, so firefighters and ambulancemen were called to the scene to be on guard.
The police officers first found one of the suspicious men in a vacant unit on the third floor of the building undergoing renovation, and then arrested him; the police officers then found another suspect in the toilet of a unit on the 16th floor of the building. At the same time he was arrested.
The two suspects were later taken away by a police car and detained for investigation.
It is reported that both of them are from the Mainland and are illegal immigrants. One of them has the surname Wei, which cannot be ruled out as a member of the "Wei Family Gang".
The police are investigating the case and no one was injured in the incident.
