27 industrial facilities entered the labor market in Daraa during the third quarter of this year, at a total cost of 195 million pounds, and provided 53 job opportunities.

Engineer Imad Al-Rifai, Director of Daraa Industry, told SANA Economic Bulletin that the new facilities were distributed among the various engineering, food, textile and chemical sectors, pointing out that the directorate licensed in three months 30 industrial projects with a capital of 425 million pounds, which will provide 94 job opportunities once they enter the service.

As for the craft sector, he added, the number of craft establishments that entered the labor market in the third quarter of this year amounted to 22 engineering, food and textile establishments with a capital of 15.5 million pounds, which employed 53 workers, indicating that the directorate licensed during the same period 31 craft projects at a cost of 160 million pounds, which will provide 82 job opportunities when put into service.

Al-Rifai pointed out the efforts made by the Directorate in the field of securing the fuels necessary for the operation of industrial and craft establishments, through approvals granted assets by the Sub-Committee on Fuels.

In the third quarter of last year, the Directorate implemented 35 industrial and craft facilities that provided 102 job opportunities, while 40 industrial and craft facilities were licensed and secured 163 job opportunities.
