Greta Thunberg says change will not come from COP26 1:00
(CNN) -
A delegate appointed by President Jair Bolsonaro to lead the Brazilian Forum on Climate Change resigned from his post on the last day of world leaders talks at the COP26 Summit in Glasgow.
Oswaldo dos Santos Lucon, an academic appointed to the post two years ago, told CNN that he resigned from his post Tuesday over his alleged failures in the post.
Lucon said he told Brazilian media G1 that "COP could have been used in a better way."
When asked by CNN what he meant by that statement, he said that "we could have had meetings between the government and [civil] society promoted by the Forum."

Lucon also indicated that he told the Folha de São Paulo newspaper that “my intention in taking office at the Forum was to put the federal government in contact with civil society, promote dialogue in a transparent manner, based on science, and strengthen our institutions.
This is not what happened. "
Lucon was appointed by Bolsonaro in 2019 to lead the Forum, which is tasked with organizing meetings between government and civil society personalities on the issue of climate change.
However, Dos Santos Lucon was not officially representing the Brazilian government at COP26 and said he had a UN-issued credential to attend the event.
When asked by CNN how many people work at the Forum now that he has resigned, Dos Santos Lucon said: “Zero.
Until yesterday, [there was] one. "
