The office of the Syrian-Cuban Friendship Committee in the People's Assembly and a number of council members discussed today, during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Syria, Miguel Porto Parga, ways to strengthen and develop parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the chairman and members of the committee stressed the depth and rootedness of the Syrian-Cuban relations and that the two countries are partners in the struggle against the forces of imperialism, hegemony and aggression that aim to impose their hegemony and confiscate the independent decision of the two countries, calling for the revitalization and development of bilateral relations between Syria and Cuba in all fields and the intensification of mutual visits and scientific missions.
For his part, Ambassador Porto Parga affirmed that his country will continue to stand by Syria in the face of the Western measures it is facing, pointing out that Syria is fighting international terrorism and calling for further development of bilateral relations at all levels and continuous coordination in international forums to defend the issues of the two friendly countries and to pursue the struggle in Confronting global imperialism.
