The city's application for the state horticultural show is picking up speed.

There has been an official logo for a few days, and interested Starnbergers, clubs and associations are invited to a citizens' dialogue for the coming week.

In the meantime, the city council has decided to align it in 2032.

Starnberg

- If Starnberg should actually get the contract to host a state horticultural show, it will only be for the year 2032. In its most recent meeting, the city council decided against the votes of the WPS to concentrate on this year with the application and is therefore a proposal followed by the steering committee set up by the city.

"In the year 2032, 120 years of the city of Starnberg could then also be celebrated as part of the state horticultural show," said the resolution proposal from the town hall. Starnberg originally applied to host the event in 2028/2030. The Bayerische Landesgartenschau GmbH has meanwhile extended the award period to the years 2031 and 2032. The administration works well: "The heart of the Starnberg application and an essential condition for a successful application will be the rectification of the grievances on the lake promenade," writes the responsible office manager Sarah Buckel.

“A realistic schedule has to be worked out for implementation.

This implements, among other things, that there is an agreement on the available space, a plan approval procedure takes place and the necessary planning and construction steps can be implemented, ”explains Buckel.

For all of this, Starnberg is also dependent on a positive outcome in the ongoing talks with Deutsche Bahn.

Application documents must be submitted by April 8, 2022 at the latest

In addition, the Franconian metropolis of Nuremberg has officially announced its interest in the State Garden Show 2030 and is a clear favorite for this year.

Of course, the focus on the later year does not change the schedule of the Starnberg application.

The documents must be submitted by April 8, 2022 at the latest.

What should then be possible, how Starnberg could present itself and much more is the topic of the first Citizens' Dialogue, to which the administration is inviting you on Saturday, November 13th. All citizens, clubs and associations are invited to actively help shape the application for the state horticultural show, writes town hall spokeswoman Lena Choi in a press release.

At the Citizens' Dialogue, interested parties have the opportunity to find out more and contribute ideas.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., an information market will be set up in the gym of the Starnberg grammar school (Rheinlandstrasse 2).

At various stands it will be made clear which areas in Starnberg and the districts will benefit in the long term from an urban upgrade through the state horticultural show.

"It is expressly requested that the Starnbergers participate in the conception and contribute their wishes, suggestions and ideas," it says.

"Garden shows are community projects and a motor for urban development, which contribute to positive and sustainable change in a city with a lot of innovation and a wealth of ideas."

In addition, the administration is offering two bus tours in the city on November 13th: from 11 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 2.15 p.m.

Together with representatives of the city administration and the commissioned planning office “Keller Damm Kollegen Landschaftsarchitekten Urbaner GmbH” (Munich), the possible venues for the state horticultural show are approached and the respective development potentials of the areas are explained.

Because the number of places on the bus is limited, the town hall asks you to register in advance by email to the address landesgartenschau@starnberg.de by Wednesday 10 November at the latest.

Participation in the Citizens' Dialogue is only possible if the 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered or tested negative) is complied with.

Proof of this must be presented at the entrance.

It is mandatory to wear a mask during the entire event.

Those interested can find more information at www.starnberg2032.de on the Internet.

With a stylized representation of the fishermen's huts on the lake promenade, the city has meanwhile also published its own logo for the state horticultural show.
