Freising

- After more than 13 years, choir director Norbert Huber is relinquishing the musical direction of the freysing larks gospel choir.

The 50-year-old has now said goodbye with a prayer service in the parish church of St. Lantpert.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

“In the future, Norbert Huber wants to concentrate on his work in the parish of St. Lantpert and at the schools,” reports Larks press spokeswoman Marita Kuhlmann.

The Freysing cultural scene will, however, remain and shape culture on a smaller scale: "And the freysing larks will continue to provide fresh impetus in Freising's cultural life," says Kuhlmann.

“The freysing larks are a great community.

A flexible choir that achieves an infinite amount and with whom you enjoy living, ”says Huber.

"But even such a brilliant ensemble deserves a new choir director after more than ten years."

Huber's credo: Music for everyone

In March 2008, at Huber's newspaper request, over 100 interested people spontaneously gathered in the Lerchenfeld parish hall and began to shape the gospel choir with singing, movement and expression.

The choir director's enthusiasm soon spread to the ensemble, and meeting in this community became an event.

Huber's credo: “Music for everyone.

Everyone who enjoys singing should be allowed to sing in a choir, even if they are completely inexperienced. ”For Huber, the movement for singing and the staging of the pieces are important.

“Praising God with hands and feet” is a holistic experience for him.

Musical summer as a milestone

“The freysing larks have laid down a success story with Norbert Huber,” says Marita Kuhlmann. The performances included large church works with jazz elements and appearances at the Uferlos Festival with “Hair” and “ABBA”.

The Freisinger Musicalsommer, co-initiated by Norbert Huber, was a milestone in the Freising cultural scene.

In cooperation with the Munich musical performer and director Maximilian Widmann, projects were created that attracted national attention.

Kuhlmann: “The musicals 'Feuerhex' and 'Korbinian' on Freising's Marienplatz as well as the Broadway musical 'Hairspray' are unforgettable.

The fourth musical summer round with the project “Naturally Blond” had to be canceled shortly before completion due to the pandemic.

How the series of events will continue after Huber's departure is now being considered.

The succession of Huber at the larks still has to be settled.
