The ministers of the cabinet of the new North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) were sworn in on Wednesday in the state parliament.
With the exception of the transport department, which he held until he took over the government, Wüst made no changes to the black and yellow ministerial team.
The new transport minister is now the infrastructure expert Ina Brandes (CDU).
A week ago, Wüst was elected by the state parliament as the new Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia and thus Armin Laschet's successor.
The vote was eagerly awaited, because the black-yellow coalition only has one vote majority in the state parliament - the CDU has 72 seats, the FDP 28.
The failed Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet has been a member of the Berlin Parliament since the constituent session of the Bundestag.
Laschet had ruled out a return to North Rhine-Westphalia regardless of the outcome of the federal election.
