The coronavirus is spreading again - and with it the demand for PCR tests is also increasing.

The way there is sometimes complicated - € and the current family doctor regulation is unlikely to prove to be realistic.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

A young man suddenly has corona-like symptoms despite being vaccinated. Several self-tests are positive - and that over a weekend. The search for help, and most importantly, a closer examination of the symptoms begins - and now it gets complicated. Because in the official test centers of the district, people who show symptoms are expressly no longer allowed to be tested.

What at first sounds like a bourgeois prank is actually reality, as a spokeswoman for the district confirms. The current regulation says: Anyone who has signs of corona disease and wants to be examined with a PCR test must see a doctor in private practice. The official centers only test people who do not show any symptoms. However, it is not so easy to find a doctor who can and wants to do the job, especially on weekends. An almost desperate search begins.

In fact, it is becoming more and more apparent that the current regulation does not really work.

"The general practitioners cannot afford to test people with symptoms," says Andreas Forster, spokesman for the Fürstenfeldbruck medical district association, following feedback from the medical profession.

The PCR tests cannot be done for the colleagues, especially since there are so many cases.

Everything else stands still in a practice when a person with corona symptoms is to be tested, the effort is great and the logistics really difficult, says Forster.

Once again nobody looked at what the reality is like, he said when asked.

Doctors' job

A spokeswoman for the district authority explains that the current regulation was not invented, but only implemented requirements from the federal and state levels. Since tests are no longer free, the Free State has expressly pointed out that the health insurance companies have to bear the costs for a PCR test. Thus, the PCR tests for people with symptoms are the responsibility of the general practitioner. Unlike the district, these had corresponding accounting options with the cash registers. It was said that creating a billing structure for the test centers would be too complicated and also not useful. If someone has symptoms, he is sick and is in good hands with the doctor, said the spokeswoman.

The spokesman for the doctors in Bruck, however, reports that the doctors are trying to organize themselves and that negotiations are already underway with the district administration on this issue.

Because right now people would be left alone.

Contact follow-up is increased - clinic wants to rethink visiting rules

The team that detects the contacts of infected people (contact tracing) continues to work in the background.

"All contact persons can currently be identified and contacted," says a spokeswoman for the district office when asked.

Of course, this is not always possible on a daily basis.

Especially on the weekend and at the beginning of the week, it may not be possible to process all cases on the same day.

Close contact persons would usually be contacted after one to a maximum of two days.

Anyone who tested positive for the coronavirus should, if possible, inform all people with whom there was closer contact as soon as possible about the existing infection.

This week, three new permanent employees will also start in the area of contact discovery.

There are also three support staff from the police and the tax office.

These were accessed last week due to the sharp rise in the number of cases.

The CTT has 40 employees including coordination, many of them part-time.

Work is carried out in a shift model seven days a week.

In the district clinic, they were recently accused of violating their own visiting rules. One mother complained that, contrary to the rules stipulated (children under six do not count as visitors), not all of her three children were allowed to come to her on the ward. That was an individual decision, said a spokeswoman for the clinic when asked. Other visitors had already been in the room in question, so the second family was only allowed to visit one after the other. The spokeswoman said that the rules have actually worked well since September and have always been very accommodating.

In view of the steadily growing number of infections, however, one has to consider whether the currently applicable rules can still be maintained - the clinic's corona crisis team has been meeting regularly for some time.

It is reminiscent of the doctors' appeal for vaccinations.
