The Tel Aviv Rabbinical Court ruled that a woman should be released from detention by revoking the sanctuary, but soon senior judges released a letter attacking the decision: "Wrong ruling that is not halakhically correct" • Following the senior protest, the court reversed its decision

Senior judges, some of whom are members of the Great Court, took an unusual and sharp step today (Wednesday) against a precedent-setting and unusual ruling handed down by the Tel Aviv Rabbinical Court, according to which a woman must be released from her abode by revoking the saint.

Opponents call it a "wrong verdict" that "is halakhically incorrect and constitutes a serious and dangerous precedent for the future of generations."

According to reports in the ultra-Orthodox media, their opinion was accepted and the verdict was overturned.

This is a long-standing affair, in which a husband refuses to grant a divorce to his wife, despite severe sanctions imposed against him, including sitting in jail.

Recently, three judges in the Tel Aviv Rabbinical Court, Rabbi Yair Ben Menachem, Rabbi Daniel Edri and Rabbi Ephraim Cohen, ruled to annul the marriage by definition of a "mistake bargain." Not valid and the woman is freed from her anchorage, as if she had never been married.

The precedent ruling provoked a storm in the rabbinical courts and a number of judges published a letter stating that this is a ruling that is not in their opinion and that is not halakhically correct in their opinion.

The letter, signed by Rabbi Zion Boaron, a member of the Grand Rabbinical Court, and Rabbi Nahum Prover, the father of the Tel Aviv Rabbinical Court, states that "this psychological opinion, which relies on hypotheses and estimates that are not necessary at all, does not There can be a basis for a halakhic judgment, and it is certainly not possible to rely on it in serious questions, such as allowing a man's wife by revoking the consecration.

"Therefore we reveal our opinion that according to our sacred Torah, this permit has no halakhic basis, and it is void as Afra Daraa (as the dust of the earth), and the woman is a perfect man's wife. "This is for the members of the tribunal to withdraw from this wrong permit."

According to reports in the ultra-Orthodox media, following the protest of the senior judges, the three judges decided to return to them and announced that the woman would remain married until she was granted a divorce.
