Last weekend, the home games against Vorwärts Matters Volleys Grimma and VCO Dresden were on for the Bundesliga women of SV Lohhof.
On Saturday the team from
Grimma was
back in
Lohhof
after a long time
. In the end, the game last season could not be played in time until the end of the season due to corona infections and was not counted. But now there was another game of two
Bundesliga
dinosaurs in the second Bundesliga South. The two games could not have been more different, both in terms of the result and the game itself.
SV Lohhof
has been there for 16 years now and the team from Grimma felt just as long.
In the past, the games were mostly exciting and close.
Not so on this Saturday: The guests from Saxony started like the fire brigade from the start and the Lohhofer women were like rabbits in front of the queue.
The team from Saxony pulled through the whole game with pressure and consistency and was able to achieve a sovereign away win in the end.
After the 0: 3 game (21:25, 13:25 and 20:25), Lohhof's trainer was extremely disappointed with the performance and expected a reaction in the game against Dresden the next day.
MVPs of the game were on the side of Grimma Diana Ceschia (# 7) and at SV Lohhof Mona Boyer (# 13).
The reaction to the bad game followed promptly.
Against the
VCO Dresden
the Lohhofer women showed a different face. From the beginning, the two teams played a lively game. The SV Lohhof tried to march ahead, while the young Dresden women did not give up and kept catching up. Ultimately, Elena Kiesling's players benefited from their greater experience. In addition, they showed the quality so often seen last season, to play sets calmly to the end and to increase the pressure on the opponent again. So the sets could be won with 25:22, 25:21 and 25:17 and the game with 3: 0. Coach Elena Kiesling was a little reconciled with this and certified the team that they had shown a solid game. Tabea Schwarz (# 7) and Larissa Winter (# 6) of Dresden became MVP for the Lohhofer women.
