Finding a job is difficult, and it is even more difficult for people with disabilities to find a job. In order to promote the workplace inclusive of the disabled and prevent the talents of people with disabilities from being buried, under the auspices of the Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Center for Civil Society and Governance Research of the University of Hong Kong has collaborated with a number of social welfare organizations.

Finding a job is difficult, and it is even more difficult for people with disabilities to find a job.

In order to promote an inclusive workplace for the disabled and prevent the talents of people with disabilities from being buried, under the auspices of the Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Center for Civil Society and Governance of the University of Hong Kong and a number of social welfare organizations launched an inclusive plan and set up comprehensive job matching platform.

Lin Weifeng, director of the research center, said that there is a chance that people with disabilities may be mismatched by relying on traditional methods to find jobs, and job opportunities and nature are also limited. He hopes that through a matching platform that is positioned as a "talent pool", multiple aspects of information can be integrated to help people with disabilities. People create more possibilities and expand the employment space of "inclined buildings".

A lot of support for people with disabilities is concentrated in social welfare agencies.

Lin Weifeng said that there are many people in society who care about people with disabilities, but the support is concentrated by social welfare agencies. The situation is not ideal: "We need a strong platform, and we can participate and deliberate together with members of the community and social resources. "He said that the general social welfare agency plans to connect employers with job seekers like brokers or intermediaries, but the model is insufficient: "Some people think that people with intellectual disabilities do simple jobs with towels. Other possibilities.” In fact, people with disabilities are just like ordinary people. As long as they have the opportunity, there are unlimited possibilities. Lin said: “You want to get 50% off towels for the night, but you may have insufficient concentration (ADHD). It doesn’t go well, so there will be a mismatch.”

Some people think that people with intellectual disabilities do the simple task of folding towels, and it seems that there is no other possibility.

You want him to get 50% off towels for the 9th night, but maybe he doesn't have enough concentration, and there will be a mismatch.

Hong Kong's first matching platform for people with disabilities officially launched on Saturday

The center is now cooperating with four social organizations, including CareER, Heep Hong Society, Hong Kong Yao Energy Association and St. James' Settlement. In a collaborative mode, the center has received donations from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust Fund to promote the "Jockey Club Inclusion. Knowing Action Project". "The project was launched in December last year and lasted for three years, including the official launch of Hong Kong’s first one-stop platform for matching work for people with disabilities this Saturday (6th), providing job matching.

It is like a "talent pool" linking different resources to teach CV writing and interview skills offline

Lin Weifeng hopes that the platform can link different resources and talents, promote inclusiveness like a "talent pool", and coordinate with different offline activities, such as entering schools to arrange career planning for people with disabilities, teach resume writing, and interview skills.

He believes that the significance of people with disabilities going to work is not only to work, but also to present a kind of inclusive life: "While contributing to society, it is also a life of dignity."

The meaning of rework for people with disabilities is not only work, but also an inclusive life. While contributing to society, they also have a dignified life.

Job seekers can upload a portfolio of three-dimensional presentations of personal talents and characteristics

Lin introduced that the types of work provided on the platform can be more flexible, including part-time and specific services, such as door-to-door car washes. He hopes that under the new trend of Slash employment culture, it will provide more job opportunities for people with disabilities.

In addition, through the website, job seekers can also design a personalized resume, such as selecting the degree of defect, uploading a portfolio, etc., to present personal talents and characteristics in a more three-dimensional manner.

Survey: More than two-thirds of respondents do not mind working with people with disabilities or intellectual disabilities

In addition, a survey conducted by the University of Hong Kong interviewed more than 2,000 citizens to understand job search conditions, policies and laws. The results showed that most of the interviewees believed that promoting social inclusion requires various sectors, including the government, society, and society. Non-governmental organizations, the business community, etc. work together. More than two-thirds of the interviewees do not mind working with people with physical disabilities, people with special learning disabilities, or people with intellectual disabilities.

People with disabilities can take a variety of transportation for free next Sunday. One carer will also travel for free.
