Abstract.

On October 9, from the Carré des docks in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), Édouard Philippe, 51, proudly announces the launch of his new party, Horizons.

He presents it as a center-right movement that will support Emmanuel Macron for the presidential election of 2022.

When he was appointed Prime Minister on May 15, 2017, Édouard Philippe was little known to the general public.

Formerly affiliated with the Les Républicains party, he served as mayor of Le Havre since 2010.

With his debut at Matignon marred by unpopular reforms such as the pension reform, Édouard Philippe attracted the sympathy of the French during the health crisis.

His resignation, in July 2020, is far from marking the end of his political career and his new party, Horizons, could well lead him to run for the presidential election of 2027.
