Dorfen

- “The city of Dorfen is proud of you and your outstanding achievements,” said Mayor Heinz Grundner when honoring 87 young citizens with the best school or vocational training qualifications.

Because of the pandemic, the ceremony in the central school's auditorium was spread over two evenings, and a total of 50 people attended.

The excellent achievements at the end of school or vocational training deserve to be publicly recognized, emphasized Grundner. Invitations were received up to a grade point average of 2.0, provided that the city was aware of the achievements. Some of the graduates had finished with a dream grade of 1.0, the mayor was pleased about the overall “excellent results”. So many young people, who are committed to their success, "form an excellent potential for our future, for the development of our city, but also for the development of our society".

The mayor explained the results with "the hard work, discipline and perseverance to pursue his goals".

With the completed training as a basis, the young people are equipped for life.

You could now achieve further goals in a school, academic or professional future.

Grundner warned to stay tuned now and continue to do things with diligence and ambition.

In his eyes, parents, teachers and trainers also deserve thanks, without whom such achievements and successes would not be possible.

Grundner warned that in addition to personal school or professional success, social togetherness and coexistence in the city, circle of friends and community are also part of it.

He advocated volunteering for others who could not provide such services.

Grundner assured them that this would give them a boost and motivation, and that they would get something back.

With all this, the city chief encouraged, the young people should of course “not forget to enjoy life”.

Grundner, together with the city council representatives from the Family-Social-Schools department, Uli Frank-Mayer and Michael Oberhofer, presented the young people with certificates along with Dorfen vouchers (20 euros) and a “Dorfen chocolate” bar.

The ceremony was accompanied musically by a flute trio under the direction of Susanne Gelsheimer.
