Because the city is growing, Moosburg's CSU is calling for more speed in planning a third elementary school. The central question is: Where could this arise?

Because the city is growing, Moosburg's CSU is calling for more speed in planning a third elementary school.

The central question is: Where could this arise?

Moosburg

- It will be two days in an idyllic atmosphere, in which, however, pressing issues will also come to the table: This Friday and Saturday, Moosburg's city councilors will be in retreat at Seeon Abbey.

The meeting, which otherwise takes place very soon after the election of a new city council and aims to get to know each other in the committee and to tap into important local political issues, can only take place now because of the pandemic.

If the members now withdraw in Chiemgau, there will also be a lot of talk about Moosburg's primary schools.

The city is growing: new development areas like the “Amperauen” here ensure that the demand for childcare and schooling will increase in the coming years.

Their classrooms are currently still receptive, as Head of Department Aicke Morgenstern reports in the town hall, "but we know that we have to react": According to the forecasts available, the need for elementary schools will no longer be sufficient for the foreseeable future.

Rudolf Heinz (CSU): "We need a third elementary school, we can't get by there."

The reason is the population growth due to several new development areas. The local CSU parliamentary group responded to the predictions with an application to the city council and published the paper before the start of the exam: The Christian Socialists demand that a specialist office should determine the suitable location for a third elementary school. "From the prognoses it is clear that we, as material cost bearers, have to react promptly with the construction of another elementary school," emphasizes parliamentary group spokesman Rudolf Heinz. For the CSU, expanding the existing primary schools on Albinstrasse and Münchener Strasse does not represent “a practicable solution to the expected needs”. As Heinz affirmed in an interview with our newspaper, “we definitely need a third elementary school, we can't get by”.The problem will become more important in the coming years, believes his colleague Erwin Weber - as a retired secondary school teacher, a man of the subject. There was a cross-party consensus on the necessity.

Current student numbers from Moosburg

Theresia-Gerhardinger-Elementary School (North): 282

Anton Vitzthum Primary School (south): 503

Georg Hummel Middle School: 549

Kastulus-Realschule: 812

From the point of view of the CSU, a new and well-chosen primary school location should combine several essential criteria: The application lists accessibility for six to ten year olds, safety on the way to school, the length of the way to school, possibilities for open spaces and the location of outbuildings.

Heinz says: "The decision about a location should not be made dependent on the spontaneous availability of a more or less suitable area."

The focus is likely to be in the northwest

During the CSU internal consultations, of course, one instinctively “looked to the west”, because the large new building area in the Amperauen is now being filled with life and there is still no school in this area.

“But the question is: Is that the most sensible location from an expert's point of view?” With the other building areas “CS Sonnenhäuser” and the still open Rockermaier area, the north-west of Moosburg should definitely be in focus.

Too small soon?

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The money for a specialist office is definitely well invested here, and time is of the essence, warns Heinz: "When planning and building a school, half a decade is over." the 44-year-old reports that more will probably only be said shortly.

“In this regard, we are still waiting for a needs analysis that will be drawn up for the city and the district.” At least the Kastulus Realschule, according to Heinz, still has plenty of capacity: “The students are better distributed since the Realschule was built in Au There is still room for expansion for the Moosburg Middle School, since 4,000 square meters of the adjacent Rockermaier area are intended for school purposes.

City councils are presented with figures

Not only the CSU will ensure that people in the Seeon Abbey think about Moosburg's students: Aicke Morgenstern from the municipal office for education will also be present at the exam, as he says.

The committee members then receive a presentation from him with detailed figures.

And vice versa, Morgenstern hopes for the necessary resolutions in the foreseeable future in order to be able to offer Moosburg's students proper educational institutions in the future as well.
