Against the background of the building permits in Judea and Samaria: the Palestinians are renewing the international struggle in Israel Israel today

2021-11-04T21:25:01.663Z

After lowering a profile to the United States' demand, Ramallah was disappointed by the political stalemate and the building permit • Now the Palestinians are formulating lawsuits in The Hague with the help of lawyers from abroad

In view of the continued construction in the settlements in Judea and Samaria and the lack of a political horizon for them, the Palestinian Authority is preparing to resume the international struggle in Israel after several months of silence.

The Palestinians are expected, by virtue of their accession to the Treaty of Rome, to turn to international organizations and demand the condemnation of Israel and even its suspension and removal from international institutions and organizations.

Their claim is known and recycled: Israel is an occupying force in the Palestinian Authority and operates while violating international law, expropriating private Palestinian land in favor of expanding settlements, infringing on the freedom of movement of the Palestinian population in Judea and Samaria, preventing access to drinking water and farmers, not allowing farmers Owns and systematically violates the human rights of the Palestinians.

The PA has already begun taking action against Israeli organizations, including the Regavim organization and the NGO Monitor organization.

These were declared "terrorist organizations" by them, in response to Defense Minister Ganz's decision to define six of the Palestinian human rights organizations as terrorist organizations.

Following President Biden's election victory, senior officials in the nascent Washington administration sent messages to the Palestinians that the Biden administration expected the Palestinian Authority to lower its profile on its demand to interrogate Israel and the IDF in The Hague, and to demand its suspension from international organizations.

The Palestinians acceded to the US request, but according to a senior official in the Ramallah Muqata, the deal that brought the authority to renew the international struggle in Israel was the approval to build about 3,000 housing units in the settlements, as well as the fact that the issue is marginalized and hardly concerns President Biden.

The latter has not at all bothered to meet with Abu Mazen yet, and the parties are not expected to return to the negotiating table any time soon.

"Damn Balfour"

A senior official in the Ramallah Ministry of Justice even told Israel Today that the Palestinian Ministry of Justice has reassembled a team of Palestinian jurists, whose job it is to formulate lawsuits to be filed in tribunals and international organizations against Israel, and against senior Israeli, civilian and military officials.

This is for war crimes, crimes against humanity and a systematic violation of the human rights of the Palestinians.

He stressed that in order to formulate and file the lawsuits, the Palestinian legal team was assisted by jurists from around the world.

The same team recently forwarded to the International Criminal Court in The Hague additional documents and testimonies of Palestinians, which allegedly testify to crimes against them.

As part of this, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) ordered all Palestinian missions around the world to lower the Palestinian flag to half-mast on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration on the Establishment of a National Home for Jews in Israel.

The Palestinians are also preparing to resume their struggle with a demand from Britain that it withdraw from the statement made 104 years ago.

Recall that the Palestinian Authority even filed a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice in The Hague against the British government, claiming that the Balfour Declaration actually led to the Israeli occupation of the territories, and the alleged commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the PA requires its media representatives to call the Balfour Declaration by its Arabic name "Viad Balfour al-Mala'un" - that is, the accursed Balfour Declaration, a term used by MK Osama Saadi from the joint list in a speech delivered this week on the Knesset podium.
