The branch of the Friends of the Environment Association in the town of Dhibin in the southern countryside of As-Suwayda, in cooperation with the town council, opened today an environmental park, as part of the activities of the National Environment Day, which is held by the As-Suwayda Governorate and the Environment Directorate.
The head of the association's branch in the towns of Dhibin, Baka, and Umm al-Rumman, Ayman Bashir, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the park extends over an area of more than 7 dunums and includes about 1,300 forest and ornamental trees that have been planted during the past years.
In turn, the head of Thebin town council, Zuhair Ghabra, explained in a similar statement that the park acquires a special importance to give an aesthetic character to the town and to be an outlet for the people, pointing out that during its opening, additional trees were planted in addition to the trees in it, as the town council is working to support the efforts of the association to continue its development.
The opening of the park included honoring the head of the Dhibin town council and a number of cleaners in the town council in appreciation of their efforts in supporting the establishment of the park and preserving the cleanliness of the environment.
