Raising the retirement age for women

The retirement age for women will be raised from age 62 to age 65, over 11 years.

The law also stipulates various measures to prevent harm to women against the background of raising the retirement age, including: doubling the supplement to the work grant, extending unemployment benefits, granting a transition to raising the retirement age in the amount of up to NIS 4,000 for non-working women. Retirement age for NIS 7,750, assistance for recipients of income support in the amount of NIS 700 per month, and an allocation of NIS 82.5 million to finance vocational training for women aged 50 to 67.

Congestion fee

The law stipulates a fee to be paid when entering 3 rings in Gush Dan in the center of the employment areas in Tel Aviv, where the rings contain the main roads leading to cities in the area: crossing the outer ring towards the congestion center from 6:30 to 10:00 in the morning will cost 5 shekels and crossing the rings The middle and inner will cost NIS 10 during these hours. In the afternoon - 15:00 to 19:00 in the evening, crossing the rings from the congestion center towards the outer ring, the rate will be half of the above amounts, and the daily ceiling will be NIS 37.5.

Public transport, service taxis, vehicles with a disabled badge and security vehicles will be exempt from payment.

The law is expected to take effect in 2025.

Import reform

This law is intended to facilitate regulation on the import of consumer goods to Israel, and among other things will allow an import route based on compliance with EU requirements.

It was also decided to adapt the regulation of energy efficiency of electrical products to European standards.

The reform is expected to take effect in about six months.

The law will also allow the import of a stick route and the parallel import of 15 different types of cosmetics, as well as allow a European route for importing sensitive food on the basis of a statement only, which will replace the long approval route that exists today in the Ministry of Health.

The total savings for consumers are expected to be about NIS 6 billion a year.

Kashrut reform

The law stipulates that the kosher market will be opened to full competition in about a year (1.1.23) so that private entities can grant kosher.

The bodies will receive approval from the Chief Rabbinate of Kashrut, and will be able to act according to their choice according to a kosher standard (standard) to be determined by the Chief Rabbinate Council or according to a standard determined by three rabbis.

In about two months (1.1.22), the religious councils will be able to give kosher status anywhere in the country and not just in the cities to which they belong.

The price of kosher certificates for businesses will not be uniform and will be determined by each kosher corporation and religious council.

The granting of kosher food products will be possible for all the above bodies except the religious councils. Kosher supervisors will be required to be certified by the Chief Rabbinate.
