Day four of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow.

Almost everything revolves around Greta Thunberg.

Glasgow - The 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) has been taking place in Glasgow since Sunday (October 31, 2021).

The fourth day of the conference in Scotland focused primarily on climate finance issues.

Also there was Mark Carney, the former chairman of the Bank of England.

At the meeting, he met environmental activist Greta Thunberg *.

Seeing Thunberg and Carney in one room was a highlight for many people on site.

While the renowned manager Carney campaigned for compensation deals, Greta Thunberg contradicted him and criticized the climate policy of the powerful.

COP26: Greta Thunberg raises serious allegations at UN climate summit

At a demonstration by Klima-Aktivst: inside on the fringes of COP26 in Glasgow *, Thunberg then again showed her attitude towards the climate policy of the UN climate conference.

In her speech, she accused the governments represented at COP26 of not wanting to lead a serious fight against climate change.

They would just pretend that they take climate change seriously.

As recordings of the demonstration on the YouTube platform show, Thunberg chanted: "Put your climate crisis in the A ****".

Another point of criticism from the activists was that the poorer nations were not given enough say in COP26.

And that even though they would feel the effects of the climate crisis the most.

The involvement of finance capital is also viewed critically by the activists.

They fear so-called "greenwashing".

COP26 in Glasgow: Private investors raise 130 trillion dollars

While the representatives of poorer countries appeal to the large industrial nations and donors, Mark Carney celebrates the supposed success of the "Net-Zero" initiative. The financial companies represented in the initiative are committed to implementing the Paris Climate Agreement. A total of 130 trillion US dollars in private capital has already been mobilized for climate protection *. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gases to zero by 2050. More than 450 companies from 45 countries are currently behind the initiative.

The poorer nations are nonetheless dissatisfied with the progress made so far by COP26 *.

Sonam Phuntsho Wangdi described the progress of the conference as terrifying and disappointing.

He is chairman of the less "developed" countries at COP26, reports Bloomberg.

He further affirmed "We cannot wait any longer".

On the fifth day of COP26, the oceans and coastal regions will be in the foreground.

It remains to be seen whether the balance between the industrialized and developing countries will smooth out again.
