There have been no uniform rules in Germany since the beginning of the corona pandemic.

An overview of where contact restrictions, 2G and 3G-plus apply.

Berlin - The corona infection rate is high throughout Germany: The nationwide seven-day incidence was last at 146.6.

Many federal states are now far above this.

But the measures are just as different as the incidences: Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the federal and state governments have not been able to agree on uniform measures.

Keeping an overview seems almost impossible.

3G, 2G or 3G-plus?

Which rules apply where

The lowest incidences are currently found in Bremen and Saarland, among others: In Bremen, the 3G rule can therefore currently be dispensed with.

In Saarland, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein, on the other hand, 3G is retained despite the low incidence.

In most countries, such as Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Thuringia and Berlin, on the other hand, organizers and restaurateurs have the option of choosing between 2G and 3G.

Only in Bavaria, where the protective measures were tightened on Wednesday (November 3rd), will in future be 3G-plus instead of 3G.

Where 3G was previously in effect, there is no longer any access for the unvaccinated.

Contact restrictions: who can attend private parties?

In Baden-Württemberg, a new warning level came into force on Wednesday (November 3rd).

This also affects the contact restrictions: In future, unvaccinated people from a household will only be allowed to meet five other unvaccinated people.

Restrictions for unvaccinated people also apply again in Hamburg and Lower Saxony: only ten (Hamburg) and 25 unvaccinated people (Lower Saxony) are allowed to meet here.

For those who have been vaccinated or recovered, however, there should be no restrictions on contacts.

School, gastronomy and football: the rules of the federal states

The most controversial topic in the fight against pandemics is probably school. Just like the learning content, each federal state decides itself on the corona measures. Schoolchildren in Bavaria will have to wear a mask again in the next two weeks, while NRW has relaxed the mask requirement again. The test concepts for schoolchildren also differ depending on the federal state.

The gastronomy shows how confusing the new corona rules of the federal states can be: In Hesse there is the possibility of 2G - then even distance and mask requirements are no longer required.

In Hamburg, restaurateurs have the opportunity to switch from 3G to 2G when there is a lot of traffic.

Only Saxony and Bavaria are consistent here: Saxony is currently planning to make the 2G rule mandatory, in Bavaria 2G proof is already required for clubs and bars.

It only becomes more diffuse when it comes to football: Here, clubs often decide for themselves which rules they want to apply.

But one thing is certain: while it could become uncomfortable for the unvaccinated again in the coming weeks, vaccinated and convalescent people have to reckon with few or no restrictions.
