Traffic light coalition negotiations: Greens dissatisfied with progress - schedule in danger?
The SPD, Greens and FDP have been negotiating for four weeks about the formation of a joint federal government.
The aim is to form a government in the week from December 6th to 10th.
It was expected that the interviewees would publish a detailed schedule this week.
The Greens did not want that in view of the halting talks.
There should also be disagreements on the financing of climate protection, digitization and education.
It was stated in the exploratory paper that investments were necessary, but not to what extent.
As the
Süddeutsche Zeitung
reports, some of the negotiators of the Greens were also disappointed with the positions of the SPD, which would proceed too half-heartedly when it comes to climate policy.
Traffic light coalition negotiations: Several points of contention are still pending
The negotiators have agreed not to disclose, and so far only a few details have emerged from the talks.
Fundamental differences, however, have to be bridged in a number of policy areas, such as finance, climate and migration policy.
The SPD, the Greens and the FDP must therefore bridge their existing differences in the coming weeks and find a consensus on contentious issues if Olaf Scholz is to be elected Chancellor before Christmas.
The finance minister, who was still finance minister, had targeted this point in time at the beginning of the coalition negotiations.
