Former Las Vegas Raiders catcher Henry Ruggs III was traveling at more than 250 kilometers per hour - his alcohol level was more than double the legal limit - before his car rear-ended another, killing another. a 23-year-old woman, prosecutors said Wednesday.

The Raiders removed Ruggs from the team Tuesday night after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced that he was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) resulting in death.

Tina O. Tintor of Las Vegas was killed when Ruggs collided with her car, according to a police arrest report.
