Anyone who was out and about in Munich on Tuesday evening may have been amazed at a special protest.
Luminous messages were beamed onto house walls.
The aim was to draw attention to a problem in Berlin as well.
Messages have been projected onto houses in Munich
Behind this is an alliance that operates across Germany
Objective: to attract attention in Berlin too
A message that everyone can see, that shines brightly at night and that pops up at the scene of the event: This is exactly what caused the
action alliance
“RentStop!” To cause a sensation in Munich on Tuesday evening.
All the group needed was a cargo bike, a projector and lettering.
In this way, the activists around Matthias Weinzierl were able to project bright messages onto the houses, which represent an imbalance on the real estate market in the state capital.
"Profit, greed, luxury renovation, displacement"
For example, an uninhabited house in the middle of Türkenstrasse with the words “Empty” on it.
Noticeable right next to it: the large vacant lot.
Or a building on the corner of Bamberger and Schleißheimer Strasse in Schwabing, which was branded with the words "Profit, Greed, Luxury Renovation, Displacement".
"New luxury building" was also written on the elongated house opposite the Bonifazius Church on Karlstrasse in Maxvorstadt.
Just like "27.0000 euros per square meter".
The alliance's logo shone again and again on the walls: a red, defensive hand with a house in its center.

“The reactions we got were great,” says Weinzierl.
Some tenants, who
threatened to be
kicked
out, gave their
consent
.
Or also from passers-by who have little understanding for speculative objects.
According to Weinzierl, the luminous protest was integrated into a Germany-wide campaign by “RentStop!” The aim was to sensitize the politicians of the three parties, who are currently in coalition negotiations, to the problem.
Finally, the sub-groups are currently also discussing how the topic of “building and living” should be dealt with.
