Little Cleo's parents had worried for about 18 days for their daughter's life, and just a few days after the girl's disappearance, investigators assumed that they would only be able to rescue the four-year-old dead. The relief in the girl's family should have been all the greater, one day after the rescue, the family had shown themselves reunited in public for the first time. Australian media released a video of Cleo being carried out of the house in a pink and white dress on her beaming mother's arm. The four-year-old holds a pink balloon in her small hands.

Sergeant Cameron Blaine, the girl is doing surprisingly well.
She looks “happy and lively.
Blaine was one of the investigators who discovered little Cleo in the locked house.
Just a few hours after the discovery, the little girl was smiling happily at the camera, while little Cleo had an ice cream in her hand.
"I can only see her from the outside, of course," Blaine said.
"But from this point of view I am amazed that she seems so balanced and happy."
Missing Cleo from Australia: Background is still unclear - 36-year-old in custody
The exact background of the missing person is still unclear, a 36-year-old man was taken into custody at the same time as Cleo's discovery.
According to the Australian media, charges could soon be brought against him.
Investigators would therefore currently try to find out whether the girl had stayed in the locked house for the entire 18 days.
However, the suspect is said to have no connections whatsoever to Cleo's family.
Little Cleo's disappearance had shocked all of Australia and people beyond since October 16.
The four-year-old was at a campsite around 75 kilometers north of her hometown Carnarvon with her family when she disappeared from the family tent in the middle of the night.
The girl's sleeping bag disappeared along with the child.
