For the first time in a good nine months, the number of new corona infections in Brandenburg has risen above the 1000 mark again. The health authorities reported 1303 new cases within one day, as the Ministry of Health announced in Potsdam on Thursday. The number has more than doubled within a week. In mid-January there were last over 1,300 newly registered infections in Brandenburg, as can be seen from an overview by the Robert Koch Institute.
Potsdam - The seven-day incidence, the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, has jumped from 134 to 159 within one day.
At the country's warning light, the value is still in the yellow area (100 to 200).
In the Elbe-Elster district, the seven-day incidence has risen to over 300 at 374.9.
In Cottbus (205.7) and the Spree-Neisse district (229.2) the incidence has passed the 200 mark.

After 54 patients the day before, the Ministry of Health reported 61 people on Saturday who have to be treated in clinics for a Covid 19 disease.
Of these, 20 patients are being cared for in intensive care, of which 19 must be ventilated as of Friday.

After 61 patients on Saturday, the Ministry of Health reported 62 people on Sunday who have to be treated in clinics for a Covid 19 disease.
22 of these patients are being treated in intensive care, 21 of which have to be ventilated as of Saturday.

In Brandenburg, the number of corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 34.5 to 36.8 within a week (seven-day incidence).
The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.
A week ago it was 37.4.
This means that Brandenburg is still well below the national average.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value for all of Germany on Thursday morning as 63.0.

Around 1.5 million Brandenburgers are fully vaccinated, which is 60.8 percent of the population.
After a corona outbreak in a senior citizens' home in Schorfheide on Werbellinsee (Barnim) with twelve dead, the state government decided to make an extended test obligation for unvaccinated employees in nursing homes.
