While many long-distance travel destinations are currently loosening their corona measures to attract tourists, another holiday country is now choosing a stricter route.

Costa Rica is a breathtaking holiday destination with its numerous national parks and lush vegetation.

However, anyone who wants to venture there from next year must be fully vaccinated in any case.

The government is planning to introduce the 1G rule across the country.

Non-essential facilities can then only be entered with proof of vaccination, as reported by the Federal Foreign Office.

Initially, there will be a transition phase from December 1, 2021 to January 7, 2022, in which hotel, restaurant and shop owners will decide for themselves whether they want to only let vaccinated people in.

However, if you continue to allow unvaccinated visitors during this period, they may only use 50 percent of their capacity.
